Rákóczi Castle of Sárospatak
3950 Sárospatak, Szent Erzsébet utca 19.
Rákóczi-vár (Sárospatak) is perhaps Hungary’s most beautiful late Renaissance castle. It was part of the dowry of Zsuzsanna Lórántffy and became an important site of Hungarian independence movements. Every wall of the castle tells stories of the country’s turbulent history. This castle is also depicted on the 500-forint banknote.

Zemplén Adventure Park

Located in Sátoraljaújhely, the Zemplén Adventure Park is often first experienced through its bobsled track — but if you’re here, it’s worth going further. Rope courses, a chairlift, and a climbing wall all await, offering a wide range of active experiences for visitors seeking more than just a ride.

Hiking to the Megyer-hegyi Tengerszem

The Megyer-hegy quarry lake was originally a millstone quarry, but today it has become one of the most popular attractions in the region, complete with a nearby lookout tower for visitors. This breathtakingly beautiful lake can be reached via the Malomkő educational trail, which leads you through the area’s unique natural and geological landscape.
