Program Package All in Blue Trail – from castle to castle through the magical valley of the Arka Stream!

This spectacular 17-kilometre section of the Országos Kéktúra leads hikers through the breathtaking landscapes of the Zemplén region, following the picturesque valley of the Arka Stream while connecting two of the area’s most iconic historic fortresses: Regéci vár and Boldogkő vára.

The route passes through charming mountain villages such as Arka, Mogyoróska, Regéc, and Boldogkőváralja, where peaceful rural atmosphere and untouched natural surroundings create a truly relaxing hiking experience. Along the way, hikers can enjoy forest trails, streamside paths, gentle climbs, and scenic viewpoints that reveal the beauty of the Zemplén Mountains from different perspectives.

More than just a nature hike, this route is also a journey through history. The two castles standing at opposite ends of the trail recall the era of medieval border fortresses, while the surrounding landscapes preserve the timeless character of the region. Fresh mountain air, quiet forests, and the rich cultural heritage of the Zemplén together make this section of the Blue Trail one of the most memorable hiking experiences in northeastern Hungary.
