Alongside the historical memorial sites and synagogues connected to the miracle rabbis, the itinerary also features local flavours, wine region programs, and outdoor experiences, presenting the stories, atmosphere, and diverse character of the region through an experience-based journey of discovery.

Day 1: In the Footsteps of Miracle Rabbis and the Evening Atmosphere of Tokaj

The first day may follow a unique cultural route through Tokaj and the Zemplén region, connecting memorial sites and historic settlements associated with the miracle rabbis. The journey can begin at the synagogue of Tokaj, then continue through Bodrogkeresztúr, Tarcal, Mád, Tállya, Abaújszántó, Erdőbénye, Olaszliszka, Sárospatak, and Sátoraljaújhely, presenting the religious and cultural heritage of the region.

One of the most important stops along the route is the miracle rabbi’s grave in Bodrogkeresztúr, a key pilgrimage site and a defining landmark of the region’s Jewish cultural heritage. The nearby Acetánia Vinegar Museum offers another distinctive experience, where the traditions and modern methods of wine vinegar production can be explored in an interactive way.

In Mád, alongside the synagogue and other Jewish heritage sites, Mádi Sajt provides a gastronomic experience where visitors can discover the world of local cheesemaking and handcrafted products.

Further along the route, the Anyukám Mondta restaurant in Encs offers a notable culinary stop, while in Sárospatak, A Boros wine bar and gastronomic venue complements the day’s experiences with the atmosphere of contemporary Tokaj wine culture.

Day 2: Adventure Park, Castle, and Off-Road Vineyard Experiences

The second day can begin in Sátoraljaújhely at the Zemplén Adventure Park, one of the region’s best-known active leisure destinations. The bobsleigh track, chairlift, adventure courses, and panoramic hilltop views together offer dynamic recreation and shared experiences.

In the afternoon, the journey may continue in Tolcsva at the Helia-D Herba Castle, where the unique atmosphere of the estate and presentations connected to medicinal herbs provide a calmer yet still experience-focused program. The historic surroundings and castle park make the location one of the day’s most distinctive stops.

As a closing experience to the two-day itinerary, an off-road vineyard tour combined with wine tasting offers an active way to explore the Tokaj wine region. The routes leading through the vineyards, panoramic stops, and guided wine experiences together create a memorable finale to the program.
